    KHABAROVSK, February 26 (RIA Novosti correspondent Oleg Kulgin) - Russia is to adopt a program of highway development designed for the period until 2025, Russian transport minister Sergei Frank told a conference in Khabarovsk (a territorial center in the Far East).

    In his words, the main components of this program are the development of road construction, sea ports and regional airlines.

    Speaking about the development of the transport infrastructure of the Far East, Sergei Frank stressed that the building of the requisite infrastructure of the Amur highway from Khabarovsk to Chita must completed before 2008 and asphalt must be laid on the whole length of it.

    The minister stressed the importance of the modernization of ports and the provision of Far Eastern airlines with modern middle-range equipment in order to develop air communication inside the region.

    Over the past three years, 30 billion rubles (over $1 billion) have been allocated for the development of the transport infrastructure, of them 12 billion rubles - from the federal budget, said Frank.
