RUSSIA, JORDAN TO DEVELOP TOURIST COOPERATION

MOSCOW, February 25, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - On Wednesday Russian Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Vladimir Strezhalkovsky and Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Alia Hattough-Bouran, currently on an official visit to Moscow, have signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation in the tourist sphere.

In addition to tourist cooperation, the agreement implies the development of cultural and religious exchanges between the two countries and simplification of visa regulations.

Vladimir Strezhalkovsky pointed out Russian-Jordanian active cooperation in the tourist sphere. According to him, two years ago Jordan chaired at the World Tourist Organization, while Russia is in its chair today.

On her part, Alia Hattough-Bouran stressed that the signing of this agreement gives additional possibilities to boost Russian-Jordanian cooperation in the tourist sphere.
