TBILISI, FEBRUARY 24 (RIA NOVOSTI) - The Georgian parliament has suspended its December 5, 2002 resolution on Georgia's negative approach to Russia's entry into the World Trade Organization.
The decision was taken on Tuesday at an extraordinary parliamentary session, the information agency Novosti-Georgia reports.
"The question of the full canceling of the decision may be raised very soon," parliamentary chairperson Nino Burdzhanadze said.
"Things are changing in Georgian-Russian relations and a new stage of relations begins between Georgia and Russia. This Georgian gesture may play a positive role," she added.
Georgia has been a WTO member since 2000 and its opinion could have a negative effect on the Russia-WTO negotiating process.
