MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 17 (RIA NOVOSTI) - The ban on shipments of American chicken meat to Russia operates with regard to farms in only one state, Delaware, Russian Vice-Premier and Agricultural Minister Alexei Gordeyev confirmed.

The limitations have been imposed because of the "chicken flu".

The H7 flu strain, which presents quarantine danger, has been confirmed in Delaware, Gordeyev said.

The decision to limit poultry shipments from another state, New Jersey where the chicken flu has also been found, will be taken on February 19 or 23, Gordeyev added.

As regards the third problem-ridden state, Pennsylvania, its chicken meat is not among quarantine food items, Gordeyev said.

"The ban only operates for shipments from one state (Delaware) and limits for another (New Jersey) may be imposed on February 19 or 23," Vice-Premier Alexei Gordeyev said.
