NEW SUBSISTENCE LEVEL ESTABLISHED IN RUSSIA

MOSCOW, February 13 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian government has established a new subsistence level per capita and for major social and demographic groups of the population all over the Russian Federation in the 4th quarter of 2003.

According to the government information department, the subsistence level per capita was estimated at 2,143 rubles ($1 equals about 30 rubles).

For working people, the subsistence level was put at 2,341 rubles, for pensioners - 1,625 rubles and for children - 2,113 rubles.
