MOSCOW, February 13 (RIA Novosti) - The number of exposed large-scale corruption cases was reduced by 50% in 2003, Deputy Chief of the Kremlin administration Viktor Ivanov said Friday at an extended session of the interior ministry's board.

"The work of the interior bodies in the fight against corruption needs to be improved. The results of the interior bodies' efforts in this area do not correspond to their scope and potential," said Ivanov.

He also said that according to the prosecutor's office, the number of exposed large-scale bribe-taking cases had been reduced.
