MOSCOW, February 12th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent Yevgenia Yakuta) - At a press conference on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev did not rule out the possibility of limiting flour exports.

"We are seriously concerned over the flour exports," he said.

Gordeyev recalled that on January 15th new customs duties for grain exports would be introduced. According to operative information, exports of bread grain has been reduced 10-fold as a result of this measure, he remarked.

"Considering the limitations of the grain export, our commercial agents are finding new ways of getting super profits," Gordeyev said. "Flour exports may soar," he explained.

"We monitor the situation and will limit flour exports if need be," stressed the vice premier.
