BPS' PIPE CAPACITY TO REACH 42 MILLION TONS

MOSCOW, January 30. /RIA Novosti correspondent/ -- By the end of February the pipe capacity of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) will reach 42 million tons, president of Transneft company Semyon Vainshtok told journalists in Moscow.

He recalled that, according to a government decision, the BPS' pipe capacity will gradually increase and, having attained 42 million tons, will be augmented first to 50 million and further on to 62 million tons.

The Baltic Pipeline System is designed for export of oil in the north-western direction onto the markets of Europe and the USA.
