MOSCOW, January 26 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian ruble can become fully convertible by the year 2007. This opinion was expressed by well-known Russian economist Alexander Livschits at a news conference in RIA Novosti on Monday.
"There is a chance to achieve a full convertibility of the ruble in 2007. But a number of conditions should be observed for this purpose.
"First, the inflation should not top 5-6 percent. Nobody would need the ruble which depreciates at the rate of 10 percent a year. There are also some other technical conditions," pointed out the economist.
