MOSCOW, January 22 (RIA Novosti) - This year, the Cabinet is facing the important objectives of continuing to diversify the economy and enhancing the processing industries' role, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov said at a Cabinet meeting Thursday.
"These are the main objectives, which will help resolve the social problems facing the country," he said.
"To sustain high GDP rate, which surpassed 7% last year, is absolutely essential and quite possible thanks to diversification measures," said the premier.
