FORECAST ON GDP GROWTH IN 2004

MOSCOW, January 21, 2004. / RIA Novosti correspondent /. According to the forecast made by the Russian economic development and trade ministry (MERT), Russia's GDP will grow at least by 5.5 percent this year. Arkady Dvorkovich, deputy economic development and trade minister, told about this in his talk with journalists Wednesday.

"Russia's GDP will grow by no less than 5.5 percent, with the projected realistic price of the Urals oil brand at 25.5 dollars per barrel," Dvorkovich said. "With the lower oil price, i.e.. 22 dollars per barrel, which is written into the budget, GDP will grow by 5.2 percent," he added.
