MOSCOW, January 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Tatneft oil company has been recognized by the Turkish government as the winner of a tender on privatisation of the Tupras oil refinery, reports a Tatneft press-release.

The Russian company's interests were represented by the affiliated German company Efremov-Kautchuk GmH which participated in the tender.

"Tupras is an important element in Tatneft strategy and our company plans to work over further development in association with the Turkish industrial and financial group Zorlu," says the release.

Tatneft is a major Russian vertically-integrated oil company, with the government of Tatarstan (a republic in the Volga federal district of Russia) being the leading share-holder.
