MOSCOW, January 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Minister for Labour and Social Development Alexandre Pochinok told Tuesday his counterpart from Kirghizia, Roza Aknazarova, that Russia needed legal foreign workforce. He noted that bilateral cooperation provided for active discussion of migration matters.

Workforce quota last year was not exhausted, he said. He explained his protest against illegal labour not so much by their dodging tax-payment as by their lack of social security.

For a period until 2007, some regions will suffer of ever decreasing number of experts in some trades, said Pochinok. Legal labour quotas in certain Federation jurisdictions have been decreased this year but the number of illegal migrants prevailed over legal labour by several times and even dozens of times in some areas, according to Pochinok.

He suggested that Russia and Kirghizia exchange information on what trades are required in Russia by using Russian employment service data.
