MOSCOW, 16 January. /RIA Novosti/. At his meeting with State Duma deputies Russian prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov stated that 700 000 out of 40 million Russian with the accumulated (funded) part of pension savings filed applications to transfer their assets into private managing companies.

He acknowledged that the government paid insufficient attention to explanations of accumulative accounts of citizens.

At the same time Kasyanov was confident that the government should not in any way persuade citizens to transfer their savings into private companies. He stated that "the government should explain but not be engaged in campaigning." According to the premier, the major objective of the government was to create conditions for every citizen to be able to make the choice: either to leave their savings in state-owned companies or to chose private companies. The premier stated that "in his opinion, next year the number of citizens to move over to private companies would increase."
