MOSCOW, January 16, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - The wholesale and retail electric energy market will be formed this year, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, speaking in the State Duma.
Another priority in the government's activity this year is "to create competition in the sphere of railways, in particular in railway freight traffic," the Prime Minister pointed out.
The Cabinet of Ministers considers it necessary, according to him, to continue perfecting anti-trust regulation, the development of the banking sector and the finance market as a whole.
"In 2004 we shall start drafting a perspective financial plan up to 2007," said Mikhail Kasyanov. Apart from that, he added, it is necessary to polish up-to-date market mechanisms aimed at building toll roads and bridges.
