Pat Buchanan, possibly the best president America never had, once suggested we should stop referring to Spengler’s decline of the West and call it instead what it really is- the death of the West. And that was years before the current crisis! But how did we get to this wretched predicament, an abysmal cross between Rome in the 5th century and the seediness of Winston’s Smith’s decayed London in 1984?
Political correctness aside, few of us doubt that the rapid decline of western cities into multicultural hell holes signals nothing less than the collapse of civilization. The grim thought that there are entrenched forces who might be profiting from this level of degradation is an alarming one- the claim that these elites know what’s best for us believable only through the most ardent doublethink.
Historically, a uni-polar world is an absolute aberration and lasted but 15 years too long. Essentially, the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) undercut humanity’s last chance for peaceful global security integration and became project suicide. In short, the machinations of US conservatives- who are actually radicals- and eurosocialists whose only aim is to fleece working people- has led to an Orwellian nightmare that makes up in everyday squalor what it lacks, at least for now, in totalitarian brutality.
The Real Goldstein: Modeled on Trotsky, the fictional character of Emmanuel Goldstein revealed the true nature of the clash between 1984’s three warring blocs. For his part, the haplessly very real Trotsky is the source of both the neoconservative and eurosocialist belief systems that have placed the EU-NATO axis on a permanent war footing. As with much else, Orwell predicted the absolute cynicism of liberal interventionism through Oceania’s ‘War is Peace’ slogan.
In response to this pattern insanity, with the Atlantic alliance clearly going for broke, Russia was forced to make careful security choices and, along with a program of steady economic integration, has broadly allied itself to China. While numerous micro conflicts fester to the point where reality is often obscured, the underlying imperative for each of the three powers is to avoid isolation and subsequent geostrategic encirclement.
What ought it to have done, if not this? Just as Orwell noted in 1984, it’s vital to remember that while victory is all but impossible via a standard definition of conflict- no side rules out the possibility of winning through a sneak nuclear first strike. It’s this concept that must be borne in mind when we consider the deployment of US missile AEGIS systems in Eastern Europe and THAAD in South Korea. While such forward posturing might seem far removed from Trotsky’s revolution through bayonets theory- the idea of exporting revolution through warfare is not and it’s no accident that these integrated global missile systems were first proposed by Trotskyite influenced neoconservatives.
Saving the West from Itself?: While Mackinder’s Heartland Theory would have seen any alliance between Russia and China as an existential threat to the British Empire, a uni-polar world in the 21st century paradoxically makes the West much less safe as it entraps western nations into endless conflicts that only serve to wear them down and demoralize society.
The lack of social cohesion at home means further western incursions into the Middle East and Eurasia are likely to cleave apart not just NATO, but the very fabric of individual western liberal societies. Dangers Mackinder would have seen as untenable, were he alive today, are perversely viewed by Trotskyites as useful bi-products of aggression that can be used to fortify their power base- a tactic entirely made clear by Goldstein in 1984.
This tectonic division of states of more or less equal parity is a healthy thing and reflects the historical reality of human experience. While these three power centers are in more or less permanent geopolitical competition with each other, relatively stable patterns of trade, finance, and energy dependence mean none of them have a real interest in attempting to seriously cripple the other and, in fact, such a thing is entirely impossible. Bar the odd deviant philosophy like first-strike-neoconservatism, the system is as stable as can be expected.
This power structure is an alternative to globalization which is designed to subvert the multi-polar concept: Globalism is the spoiler card, the joker in the pack whose unintended consequences may yet plunge the world into either nuclear war or the triumph of holy barbarity over each of the three centers of civilization in turn and a subsequent new dark age. Or perhaps both.
Again, 1984 explains that Oceania battled not just for natural resources and markets- but for entire populations who could be quickly turned into slave labor. Yet in going several steps further, both US progressives and eurosocialists have realized that rather than simply exporting jobs to developing countries, they can achieve sounder goals both ideologically and politically by opening their borders.
Which of the three power blocs will break first? Each bloc, in turn, owes its high functioning ideology to 1917. And yet, it’s only the West that has allowed itself to succumb to the Trotskyite deviation. The formerly Communist powers of Russia and China vaccinated themselves against the Trotskyite virus and in the fullness of time emerged as robust patriotic states sure of their identity, culture, and history.
By contrast, the West allowed Trotskyite elites to peddle their ideas to generations of ambitious young undergraduates with the result that cultural Marxism, radical feminism, multiculturalism, extreme liberalism, moral relativism, LGBT, and atheist polemics have remorselessly gutted western societies while simultaneously plunging them into endless warfare. Needless to say therefore, its claims to manifest destiny are not founded on patriotism, the family, and faith- but on a putrid mish-mash of Trotskyite lies aimed at the destruction of the state, identity and historical continuity. And lies, when deception no longer suffices, can only be imposed by force.
There is no possibility of protesting this, for the ideological tyranny that is slowly gaining creeping control over not just western minds- but the western soul, deals in moral absolutes: those who might dissent will meet the fates of heretics burned by the medieval church. Today’s Occupy Wall Street protesters, Black Lives Matter, and leftist peaceniks, naively believing they are fighting for social justice- will simply meet a betrayal every bit as cruel as that suffered by the Kronstadt sailors.
Salvation?: The only way out is for the black and white ‘proles’ to unite in the name of patriotic conservatism and take back their countries before it’s too late by debugging the corrupt establishment. But the elites have already thought of this and co-opted whom they need to in order to ensure that never happens. Champagne socialists live in their manors like members of the Inner Party as Republicans and Tories play up the foreign menace.
Far from being an enemy, Russia must be viewed as the one country that was able to unite in the face of predatory globalism. Russia’s centrism and cohesion is the gold standard of resistance to globalist plundering- true social justice.
Meanwhile, despite the cult of tolerance, extremists of every hue are gaining momentum- fracturing society and paralyzing concerted reaction to the transformation of the nations we were born into as materialism and the worst cultural degeneration ever to reign in a thousand years further atomize individuals.
It’s therefore easy to see exactly what the West has condemned itself to becoming and the elitist globalist Trotskyites are in fact already looking forward to a time when all the contradictions and disunity they have created within the West can be capitalized upon to impose a dictatorship of the politically correct. When that time comes, the peoples of the beleaguered western nations will realize, as in 1984, that their nemesis was no foreign power bloc, but rather a ruthless globalist elite obsessed with preserving its own omnipotence. It’s a neon-washed pornified subservience to junk food slop, game shows, mind destroying drugs, and wars for freedom that look like video games. But it’s still slavery and every bit as barren as the derelict, rat-infested streets of Airstrip One.
