In July, a mass rally of students was held in the Thai capital. The protesters demanded the government's resignation, the dissolution of parliament, an end to harassment of government critics as well as amendments to the military-written constitution followed by new elections.

Sputnik is live from Bangkok, Thailand where school and university students have gathered at the Democracy Moment to call for political reforms in the country.

Demonstrators have been holding rallies almost daily over the recent weeks calling on the current government of Prayuth Chan-ocha to resign and pushing for amendments to the constitution. Prayuth Chan-ocha, the incumbent Prime Minister of the country, ousted an elected government six years ago in a military coup. Since then he has limited public discussion about democracy and cracked down on criticism against the government.
