During the event, organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), almost 180 countries will turn off non-essential lights for an hour to urge people not to waste energy and protect the environment.

Beijing's Yintai Centre turns off its non-essential lights on Saturday, marking Earth Hour. The event is set to show that even in these dire times the country is still fighting against climate change and trying to solve environmental issues.
