Indian Army Detains Chinese National Snooping Around Military Base

The Chinese national was found bicycling around India’s ordnance depot in Agra. Police claimed he behaved as if he had an unsound mind, but his phone records are being examined to ascertain if he is a spy.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — The Chinese national identified as Yan Hi Bo according to his passport has been handed over to the intelligence unit for further interrogation.

India Today quoted a senior police official who said that Army guards had apprehended him on Saturday night when he was found roaming around Agra's Central Ordnance Depot on a bicycle, which he claims to have purchased. Yan Hi Bo had entered India on October 24 on a tourist visa which is valid until 12 February 2018.

The police officer claimed that that the Chinese national behaved as if he had an unsound mind, but his activities in the military base area were suspicious, therefore, he was apprehended for questioning.

Cybersecurity experts have been called for examining call details and other exchanges through his mobile phone. The Indian authorities have reported the incident to the Chinese embassy.
