05:36 GMT 06.06.2017 (Updated: 05:40 GMT 06.06.2017) A total of 1,086 people have been hospitalized in Japan since May 29 as a result of extremely hot weather in the county, the Japanese fire department controlling the emergency service said Tuesday.
TOKYO (Sputnik) — Among those who had suffered from the high temperatures, exceeding 86°F in almost all the country's regions, 17 people need the extensive treatment for three weeks and over.
Around 50 percent of those affected are older than 65 years.
