BEIJING (Sputnik) — Until February 5, the country’s government will introduce amendments to the draft law on cyber protection, which is expected to be adopted later this year, the state-run.

The country’s Health Ministry prohibited the electroshock therapy in 2009 but the ban is not fully respected in local hospitals. The radio provides as an example the clinic in eastern Shandong province, where doctors asked about $900 for the therapy.

According to the radio, the Internet addiction was officially recognized as mental disorder in China in November 2008. The country has over 720 million Internet users, 23 percent of which are minors.
