A blast that occurred in a public toilet in China’s northwestern Shaanxi province killed one person and injured seven others, local media reported Sunday.

BEIJING (Sputnik) — The explosion occurred in Yulin city on Saturday, triggering the collapse of the toilet, as a result of which one person was killed, the Xinhua news agency said citing local authorities of the city’s Hengshan district.

An investigation of the incident is still in progress but the explosion might have been caused by a gas pipeline passing through the location, according to the news agency.
