Putin’s Meeting With Abe Could Be Rescheduled
TOKYO (Sputnik) – Akie Abe brought flowers to the graves of the sailors, who died in the 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War. She was accompanied by Nagato City Mayor Kurao Onishi.

Putin's official visit to Japan will begin on Thursday. The Russian leader is expected to visit the city of Nagato in Yamaguchi Prefecture, as well as the capital Tokyo.

In Nagato, Putin will hold talks with Shinzo Abe in several formats, according to Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov.

Putin’s visit is widely seen as a breakthrough in Russian-Japanese relations that deteriorated in 2014 amid the internal crisis in Ukraine.
