MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On October 24, the JTBC television network reported that Park's "shadow adviser" Choi Soon-sil allegedly received drafts of the president’s speeches before they were publicly delivered, though she had never held a public post. The following day, Park officially admitted asking Choi for advice on speeches and public relations issues, and apologized for "causing public concern."
Park has selected Yoo Yeong-ha, a former member of the standing committee of the National Human Rights Commission, to represent her interests, Yonhap news agency reported, citing the presidential office.
The revelation has caused massive anti-government protests in the country, with people and opposition parties calling on the president to resign. An arrest warrant has been issued for Choi, while the president expressed her willingness to testify in the case.
