“There are no such tensions along the strategically important Indo-China border. Because of continuous dialogue and development work, transgression incidents at the China border have come down drastically since 2014. There are 170 transgression incidents reported till September this year which is 40% less in comparison with the same time period of 2015,” said Rajnath Singh, India’s Minister for Home Affairs.
Last year, there were 271 transgression incidents reported along Indo-China borders in the first nine months of 2015. In 2014, the Indian government recorded 432 transgressions by China’s People Liberation Army in the first nine months.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Hua Chunying says, “We also oppose the linking of terrorism to any specific country, ethnicity or religion. This is China's consistent position. Everyone knows that India and Pakistan are victims of terrorism. Pakistan has made huge efforts and great sacrifices in fighting terrorism. I think the international community should respect this."
India is making every effort to build consensus among world leaders to declare Jaish-e-Mohammad Chief Maulana Masood Azhar as a terrorist under the UN Security Council 267 Committee but China has exercised its veto on the matter.
