Over the weekend, the websites of the US and UK embassies in Bishkek published warnings to their citizens, claiming that they had received messages about an increased threat of terrorist acts in October against the Kyrgyz authorities and foreign diplomats, possibly including kidnapping and hostage-taking.

The State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan reported that it had no information related to the matter, while the embassies did not provide any information to the security service of the republic. The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said it was early to talk about the reality of the terrorist threat.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange information and continue to work together to combat terrorism.
