    Japan's airlines have cancelled 122 flights in the country's southwest in light of the approaching Typhoon Chaba.

    TOKYO (Sputnik) — According to the NHK broadcaster, all cancellations relate to inbound and outbound flights in the cities on the Kyushu island.

    On Monday, reports suggested that over 590,000 people in the country's Okinawa Prefecture were preparing for evacuation because of the typhoon.

    Parts of Japan's west and east are expected to experience heavy rains on Wednesday.
