China's initiative to establish a Research Center which will be tasked with fighting corruption was welcomed by the G20 leaders, the draft copy of a jointly-released communique seen by Sputnik said.

HANGZHOU (Sputnik) — The G20 leaders welcome the initiative of China to establish the Research Center on International Cooperation Regarding Persons Sought for Corruption and Asset Recovery, according to the draft version of the G20 leaders' communique seen by Sputnik.

"We endorse the G20 High Level Principles on Cooperation on Persons Sought for Corruption and Asset Recovery and welcome Chinese initiative to establish in China a Research Center on International Cooperation Regarding Persons Sought for Corruption and Asset Recovery in G20 Member States, which will be operated in line with international norms," the communique read.

The G20 summit, which kicked off on Sunday, is set to last through Monday, September 5.
