More than 71,000 people have been affected by floods in the Chinese northeastern province of Jilin triggered by Lionrock typhoon.

BEIJING (Sputnik) — The number includes 44,500 people urgently evacuated from the flooded areas in the province, China News Service media outlet said.

Lionrock, which emerged from the Pacific a week ago, is causing powerful storms and rains across the region.
