Afghan security forces have killed at least 36 Daesh militants during military operation in country's east, local media reported on Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) According to Khaama news agency, the military operation took place in eastern Nangarhar province, where militants from the Taliban radical group and Daesh, outlawed in Russia as well as in many countries are currently operating.

The Daesh group, outlawed in many countries including Russia, operates primarily in Syria and Iraq but is known to have expanded its activities to Afghanistan, challenging government forces, along with other militant groups, including Taliban.
