    Eight People in Critical Condition After Almaty Shooting - Health Ministry

    Eight people have been hospitalized in grave condition after a shooting in southern Kazakhstan that killed three police officers and one civilian, the Central Asian republic’s health ministry said Monday.

    ALMATY (Sputnik) – The ministry described the condition of all eight patients treated at three hospitals as "severe."

    "According to Almaty's health management information, eight people who have suffered as a result of this morning's shooting are in treatment in medical institutions across the city as of 5:00 p.m. [11:00 GMT]," the ministry said.

    Earlier on Monday, the highest of terror alerts has been declared in the Kazakh city of Almaty following an armed attack on police officers Monday, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
