2,000 Police Troops Summoned in Istanbul, Ordered to Down Helicopters
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The ban was introduced Saturday following a coup attempt in the country.

According to the Hurriyet newspaper citing a statement for pilots, the ban also applies to helicopters.

Earlier it was reported that an exception will be made for the government's aircraft, as well as for the aircraft of medical and fire services.

On Monday, emergency measures have been taken in Turkey's Istanbul, as 1,800 additional police troops were deployed in the city and ordered to shoot down helicopters without prior warning.
