Developing friendly relations with China is very important, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday at the meeting with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

BEIJING (Sputnik) — In the beginning of the meeting, the head of Chinese parliament stressed that the current visit to China is already fifteenth for Putin.

"You mentioned the number of the visits to the People's Republic of China. It certainly indicates that Russia attaches foreground importance to developing relations with China," Putin said.

He added that parliamentary relations play a big role in developing Russia-China cooperation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is paying an official visit to China on June 25 at the invitations of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. Moscow and Beijing are expected to sign over 30 cooperation agreements during the event.
