The Afghan National Army (ANA) Special Forces reportedly killed two prominent Taliban commanders and three fighters in the Marjah district of Afghanistan's southern Helmand province during a military operation.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Haji Rahmatullah, who oversaw the group's activities in Matjah and Helmand, and the judicial director of Taliban were killed during the operation, TOLO news reported, citing Noor Alam Khogiyani, the commander of the first regiment of 215 Maiwand Corps.

The Afghan troops are said to have cleared 9 miles in the area of the operation.

Afghanistan is struggling with political, social and security instability, attempting to tackle the Taliban insurgency.
