MOSCOW (Sputnik) – About 100 people were evacuated on Wednesday following a fire that took place at a recycling plant in a suburb of western Sydney, Australia caused by a suspected explosion, the Fire and Rescue Service of New South Wales (FRNSW) said.
"AUBURN | #FRNSW f/fighters at a bld'g #fire on Highgate St. Fire in an industrial unit. 100ppl evac'd. 50+ f/fighters on scene," FRNSW wrote on its Twitter account.
The fire service added that the number of firefighters at the site had been increased to 60.
At least two people reportedly suffered burns due to the fire that broke out around 2:00 p.m. local time (04:00 GMT). The flames have not been contained so far.
