    Magnitude 4.7 Quake Strikes Off Japan’s Northeastern Coast - USGS

    A 4.7-magnitude earthquake occurred on Sunday about 11.2 miles off the Japanese town of Otsuchi in Iwate Prefecture, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The quake’s seismic focus was located at a depth of about 33.2 miles, according to USGS.

    There were no immediate reports on casualties or damage. No tsunami warnings have been issued.
