The country town of Allie's Creek in Monogorilby, located in southeastern Queensland, a five hour drive from Brisbane, is up for sale at around the same amount of money you could spend on a Sydney apartment — AU $750,000 (US $547,612).

The mini-town consists of 16 Queenslander-style homes with wrap-around balconies and decks, their own yards and fences. There are also roads, street lights, a water purification treatment plant, 3-phase power depot, a dam with a pontoon, plus a phone line to every home. The town even has a community town hall with an old school house surrounded by 40 acres of well-groomed parkland.
Formerly owned by a couple who bought the place in 2009, it was put on the market for $2.1 million in September, then dropped to $1.5 million, and now reduced to the bargain price due to the death of one of the owners.
"If you want privacy, you could not get better," the listing says.
