    Severe earthquake struck near the regional capital of Kumamoto on Japan's Kyushu island. At least 50 people have been injured, Japan's Kyodo news agency reported.

    TOKYO (Sputnik) — The earthquake struck near the regional capital of Kumamoto on Japan's Kyushu island. No tsunami warning was immediately issued.

    At least 50 people have been hospitalized so far following a 6.4-magnitude earthquake in southern japan on Thursday, japan's Kyoto news agency reported.

    The quake damaged at least nine buildings in Kumamoto, according to previous reports.
