Indian Police Boost Security in New Delhi Amid Terror Attack Threat

Security has been increased in sensitive areas of the Indian capital New Delhi after police were informed about a possible attack by a woman with Islamist links, a senior police officer told Sputnik on Tuesday.

NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — A source in the Indian Home Ministry told Sputnik earlier on Tuesday that intelligence agencies had alerted the ministry about the possibility of an attack by a woman of Indian descent with Canadian citizenship with ties to Daesh, outlawed in multiple states, including Russia.

"Delhi Police has been tipped about it. In view of this we have increased the security at all the sensitive areas in Delhi," Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Rajan Bhagat said.
