North Korea Threatens to Vaporize Manhattan in Response to Joint Exercises
North Korea fired several short-range rockets or missiles into the sea off its east coast Monday, just days after test-firing two medium-range missiles.

Citing a government source, Yonhap said the projectiles were launched at around 3:30 pm (06:30 GMT) and landed in the Sea of Japan.

Earlier on Monday, South Korean President Park Geun-hye ordered the country’s officials to prepare to deter potential "reckless provocations" from the North.

Earlier this month, the United Nations Security Council adopted its own sanctions against Pyongyang over the DPRK's test of a nuclear device in January and a series of ballistic missile tests. Those penalties were the harshest implemented against North Korea in nearly 20 years.
