MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Australian police have freed three hostages held in Sydney's factory, local media reported Monday.
The shooting occurred in the morning, resulting in a death of one man. Another two people were taken to the hospital with injuries, their condition is stable.
"Two men with gunshot wounds have been conveyed to Liverpool Hospital," Detective Inspector Mark Brett from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command was quoted, as broadcast by the 9News channel.
According to the channel, the operation lasted about six hours, and the criminal was killed at the scene.
Circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
