BEIJING (Sputnik) – A total of 2,943 lawmakers are expected at the annual NPC on March 5, as well as the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Beijing on March 3.
The two sessions’ media center tallied over 3,200 journalists registering to cover the two events on Wednesday, more than 1,000 of whom are with foreign media.
In addition to traditionally large media presence at the NPC and CPPCC, this year’s 13th Five-Year Plan for 2016-2020 promises to be of particular interest for foreign observers.
Security measures have been stepped up in the Chinese capital ahead of the two sessions.
