An 18-year-old was arrested in Australia’s New South Wales, with the police planning to lay terrorism charges against her, the police said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the ABC corporation, Alo-Bridget Namoa, 18, was arrested amid an investigation into terror related activities. Her husband, Sameh Bayda, also 18, is currently imprisoned for gathering documents likely to facilitate terrorism, according to the media outlet.

"We will be alleging that the item that she had possession of was a knife, and we will be alleging that the documents that we collected were related to the act also," Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn said, as quoted by the corporation.

In late November, Australian Federal Police said at least a dozen people known to reside in Australia were said to be capable of committing localized terrorist attacks.
