Terrorist Attack on Military Transport in Afghanistan Kills 3, Injures 18

Three people were killed, 18 were injured in a terrorist attack on an Afghan National Army vehicle in the country's north, local media reported Monday, citing a spokesman for a provincial government.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the TOLOnews portal, the suicide bomb attack took place near the city of Mazar-i-Sharif at 8 a.m. local time (03:30 GMT). The media added that three women were among casualties of the attack.

Taliban has reportedly claimed responsibility for the suicide attack.

Afghanistan is in political and social turmoil, with long-standing Taliban insurgency and other extremist factions operating in the country, taking advantage of the instability in the state.
