Starbucks suspends the work of all coffee shops in Jakarta following terror attacks on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — All Starbucks coffee shops will be shut in Indonesia’s Jakarta after explosions took place close to one of the stores, the company said in a statement Thursday.

"Amidst reports of attacks targeting police posts throughout central Jakarta, initial reports are that an explosion took place close to our store in the Skyline building near one of these police posts. … This store and all other Starbucks stores in Jakarta will remain closed, out of an abundance of caution, until further notice," the company said.

Earlier in the day, at least six people were killed in a series of explosions in the Indonesian capital after several assailants entered the downtown area on motorcycles, carrying rifles and explosives. According to media reports, several militants hid away at a crowded cinema.

Three policemen and three civilians were among the victims of the attacks. At least six explosions were carried out, some by suicide bombers.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has classified the explosions a terrorist act.
