MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The operation took place in the Ghorak district on Tuesday night, according to a statement on the ministry’s website.
It was noted in the statement that the terrorists were equipped with suicide vests, light and heavy rounds of ammunition and had cars containing explosives.
No law enforcement officers were injured in the raid.
The situation in Afghanistan has significantly worsened in recent months, with the Taliban radical movement and other extremist organizations such as Daesh (Islamic State), which is outlawed in Russia, conducting offensives on the country’s largest cities.
