MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Police divers have recovered the body of a man and two small children from a car that was said to be deliberately driven off a wharf in the South Australian city of Port Lincoln on Monday.
"Police were called to Brennan’s Wharf after witnesses reported seeing a white car which appeared to deliberately drive off the end the wharf and into the water," South Australia state police said in a statement. "Sadly, just before 12.30pm [02:00 GMT] the divers reported that the bodies of a man and two small children were inside the car."
The adult and two children are "believed to be known to each other," police said.
The victims' identities have not yet been established amid an ongoing investigation.
Witnesses are asked to come forward with information pertaining to the events preceding to the drowning of a white Ford station wagon at Port Lincoln.
