Bushfires in South Australia left two people died, five in critical conditions, local media reported on Thursday citing health authorities.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to SBS News, a total of 15 people were hospitalized with burns and smoke inhalation from the area north of Adelaide while another 29 were treated without hospitalization for less serious injuries.

Bushfires in Australia are frequent during the hotter months of the year, due to Australia's mostly hot, dry climate. Annually, such fires impact extensive areas.

Earlier this year, a devastating bushfire that has destroyed more than 80,0000 hectares of forest and land in the south-west of the state of Western Australia was declared a national disaster.
