Japan’s contributions to the international fight against terrorism will be limited to humanitarian aid and will not include joining any military operations, Japanese Prime Minister spokesman Yasuhisa Kawamura said.

MANILA (Sputnik) – Kawamura explained that Japan’s humanitarian mission should be understood as “providing aid to refugees and creating jobs, which should lower the level of extremism.”

“Japan will have its own vision on its contribution that it can do in the fight against this challenge. This will be a humanitarian mission. We’ve done this before and we’ll continue doing this,” Kawamura said.
