MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The tropical cyclone and powerful typhoon are expected to hit the country’s most populous island early on Sunday morning.
According to ITV News, there are about 2,000 tourists in the Southeast Asian state, who were recommended to leave seaside resorts and find safer places.
On Friday, Philippine President Benigno Aquino III urged the people to stay calm and prepare for the typhoon.
The Philippines is hit by dozens of tornadoes and typhoons annually during the rainy season that usually lasts between June and October.
